A U.S. citizen,Charles Chambers Laird died at the Hotel D'Oeste in Sao Paulo, Brasil of a "hemorragh of the brain".

Husband to Frances Cora Johnson, they were married in New Jersey, 1912. He was born in Haw River, NC. He arrived in Brazil in 11 September 1913, according to his registration with the US Consulate Registration; the purpose of his visit was "traveling"; his residence was NYC.

He was survived by his brother, Thomas Holt Laird of Greensboro, North Carolina.

In March 1920 his remains were disinterred and shipped on the Lloyd Brazilero steamship Purus via New York, then to Greensboro, NC by train for reburial. T. Holt Laird the contact person.
