Warren Edwin Schwemm, lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Warren was born August 20, 1922, in Crystal Lake to Edwin and Rose (nee Buhrman) Schwemm. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church all his life. Warren served in the US Army during WWII in US, France, and Germany. He was united in marriage to Shirley Neumann on September 27, 1975, they would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this year.

Warren enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, pinochle, and bowling. He bowled in many McHenry County Tournaments, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. Warren retired from TC Industries in 2000 and volunteered at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry and Northern Illinois Medical Center, where he made many friends.

Most of all, Warren was a devoted husband and father. He loved watching his daughter's sports activities throughout her school years. He was especially proud of the woman she has become. His family was very dear to him as he was to his family. The last few years he thoroughly enjoyed being "Grandpa" and "Poppa" to his precious grandchildren.

Surviving are Warren's loving wife, Shirley; daughter, Amy (Derek) Hunter; grandchildren, Madelyn and Jack; his sister, Marlene (Joseph) Kaleiohi; nephews, Joe and Matthew;and niece, Michelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant daughter, Kerri Marie.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Funeral services will begin with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Historic Campus, 178 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Warren's name may be made to: Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, or a charity of your choice .
