Also known as Chonen Teif. He immigrated from Minsk in 1923 with his children Abram, Rosa (Rose Tow Gussman) and Gedalie (George). Abram is believed to have returned to Minsk since he was married (Sosia). Another son Alex immigrated a few months earlier. Chonen was a widower; his first wife was Dveira Scher. In 1925, he married Rose Smelkin.
