Watertown Daily Times (NY) - September 14, 1998

Roberta M. Anderson, 72, of 7475 Morgan Road, Liverpool, formerly of Mexico, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.

She assisted her husband in his medical practice and was a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 27, 1926, at Rome, a daughter of Amos and Loretta Shanley Murtha.

Surviving besides her husband of 50 years, Dr. John R. Anderson, are a daughter, Mary Mowry, Mexico; six sons, J. Mark, Albany, John M., Owings Mills, Md., James F., Charlotte, N.C., Thomas, Skaneateles, Jerome, Baldwinsville, and Paul, Mexico; a sister, Agnes King, Potsdam; a brother, Francis Murtha, Katonah, and 15 grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 Tuesday at Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church. Burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery.

Calling hours are 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born in Rome, she lived in Mexico many years before moving to Liverpool. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse; a former member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, Mexico, and its Altar and Rosary Society; a member of the Liverpool American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Edick Hamlink Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 369 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors: Her husband, Dr. John R.; a daughter, Mary Mowry of Mexico; six sons, J. Mark of Albany, John M. of Owings Mills, Md., James F. of Charlotte, N.C., Thomas of Skaneateles, Jerome of Baldwinsville and Paul of Mexico; a sister, Agnes King of Potsdam; a brother, Francis Murtha of Katonah; 15 grandchildren.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harter Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church. Burial, Mexico Village Cemetery. Calling hours, 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico.
