LOUDON - Ralph Dexter Alexander, 78, of Maryville, died Wednesday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

His son, Larry Alexander, is married to Janie Tullock Alexander, who was formerly of Greeneville. They now reside in Maryville.

Mr. Alexander attended Broadway Baptist Church.

He retired after 31 years of service with Jewel Tea.

Survivors, in addition to those listed above, include his wife of 58 years: June Cannon Alexander; a daughter and son-in-law: Delores and Earl Maness of Maryville; six grandchildren: Stephen Manis, Jason Manis, Jessica Maness, Heather Alexander, Shawn Alexander, and Jason Collins; a great-grandson: Taylor Collins; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Ronald and Willie Alexander of Oak Ridge, Sam and Gladys Alexander of Farragut, Russell and Wilma Alexander of Natchitoches, La., David and Wanda Alexander of Sweetwater; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Sylvia and Brad Gordon of Kingston, and Mary Kate and Dirl Wicker, Janie and Jim Snyder, and Pauline McNew, all of Loudon; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: C.H. Sterling and Michael Arango, both of Maryville, and Betty Tullock of Greeneville.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 Friday evening at Loudon Funeral Home Inc. in Loudon.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7:30 in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Bob Brown will officiates
A graveside service will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in Cedar Fork Cemetery in Philadelphia.
