Lennie Lucille Jordan passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015, in League City, Texas, at the age of 92.
Graveside ceremony at Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, Texas.
She was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Lone Grove, Texas, to Luther and Maude Nobles. Lennie was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, a very strong military wife who took on the role of mother and father many times during Willard's service overseas. One of her greatest pleasures in life was to work in the yard and grow beautiful flowers.
Although she is well-remembered for her strength of character, she is also lovingly remembered by those who knew her best for her extremely infectious sense of humor. She gave joy to everyone with her witticisms and could always lighten even the darkest days with the sound of laughter and the spirit of encouragement.
Lennie was an incredible role model and instilled in all of her children and grandchildren a strong sense that the family unit is the cornerstone of building Christian values and that we all must be willing to make sacrifices in order to be of service to others, which was a lesson carried forward from her childhood. She was the glue that held the family together after the death Willard, and all of her children feel that Lennie is the epitome of what represents a true hero.
Lennie is survived by her daughters, Vickie Allday Wescott, Vena Elaine Rackley and Rosemary Acosta; sons, Willard “Bo” Jordan, Warren “Red” Jordan and Johnnie Jordan; 23 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Willard, her beloved husband of 63 years; son, Dalton Morris; sisters, Ellen McCall, Bessie Taylor and Ruth Curd; and brothers, Leslie Nobles and Franklin Nobles.
