Funeral services for Alvie Newton Green 95, are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2006, at The Sanctuary Christian Worship Center in Chelsea, Okla., with Pastor Gary Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dawes Cemetery near Chelsea. Services are under the direction of - Seaman - Blanke Funeral Service of Chelsea, Oklahoma

Newton was born Nov. 27, 1910, south of Chelsea, to Otis F. and Laura B. (Harren) Green. He attended South Branch School from 1916 until 1924. He worked on a drilling rig and was a tool dresser for Jenson Oil Company. Later Green worked as a heavy equipment operator for Sequoyah Coal Company before he retired. He married Novie P. Burchett on June 5, 1969, in Nowata. He was a member of The Sanctuary Christian Worship Center in Chelsea.

Green died Monday night, July 17 at his home in Chelsea. His parents, twins, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Novie of the home; two sons, James Green and wife Jane of Neosho, Mo., Roger Green and wife Patty of Bentonville, Ark.; two step-sons, Jimmie Brown and wife Linda of New Port, Ore., Wesley Leon Brown and wife Sue of Roseburg, Ore.; a daughter, Janice Aday and husband Wilford of Lawrence, Kan.; step-daughter, Jo Ann Wood and husband Kenny of Newport, Ore.; 10 Grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; 21 great -grandchildren, 10 step-great- grandchildren; three step-great-great-Grandchildren and several other relatives and friends
