Hannah, daughter of William and Hannah Kohl, was born in Union county, Pennsylvania, on November 21, 1846, and died at the home of her son, Francis E Grimm, living on the old homestead in Dayton twp, August 17, 1932, at the age of 85 years, 8 months, and 27 days after several months of lingering illness. In 1855 she came with her parents to Jones County, Iowa, In December, 1864 she was married to Isaac Grimm and moved to Iowa County where they lived on a farm west of Millersburg until twenty nine years ago. At that time they retired from farm life, living happily in North English until June 4, 1918, when death separated them. The last few years her home was made with her son. She is the mother of 10 children, 5 preceding her in death, two died in infancy: Albert and William Henry and Mrs. Anna Winegarden, Mrs. Hannah Killian and Connie Grimm. Those who survive are: Ed, Charles, and George of North English, Francis of Deep River and William of Keswick. Besides the sons she leaves three brothers and two sisters: Saul Kohl of Tilden, NE, Ezra Kohl, Shelby Co., IA, William Kohl of Morris, MN. Mrs Jane Thimmes and Mrs. Lydia Kromroy. Also forty grandchildren and seventy six great grandchildren. In 1866 she was united with the Evangelical Church. Later she became a member of the M. E. church of North English. The funeral services were held at the Community Church conducted by the Rev M.D Cox, pastor of the local M. E. Church.
