Mr. Foy Woodham

Foy Woodham, US Army Retired, age 93 and a resident of Dothan, Alabama, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his home.

He was a member of the greatest generation and served his country honorably. He retired after 34 years of service in the Alabama Army National Guard. When he retired from the Alabama Army National guard he became a postman for the USPS. He also worked for Standard Oil and The Houston Herald. He retired from the Alabama National Guard at the rank of Command Sgt Major. He was a co-founder and charter member of Fedapostal Federal Credit Union, now known as the Wiregrass Credit Union.

He is survived by his wife, Isophine Green Woodham ; three children, Mona Spitler (Mike), Jerri Gourley (Brent), Ronald Woodham; Grandchildren Blake Spitler, Amanda Spitler Tew (Daniel), Jeff Gourley, Scott Woodham (Jessica), Ronnie Woodham (Kim); Great grandchildren Hunter Woodham, Maci Woodham, Slade Woodham, Watson Tew; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Alacare Hospice of Dothan: and his caregivers Mona, Felecia, Ashley, Mercy, Belinda, Gayvon and Angel.

He was preceded in death by: his mother, Nora Fuller Woodham, father, Wiley E. Woodham; sisters, Geraldine Thornton, Mary Opal Kirkland Cochran and Oma McClenny; brothers, James Fletcher Woodham and Randall Woodham; granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Gourley and several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 from Ward Wilson Funeral Home at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Ward Wilson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the service begins at 2:00 pm.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may made to Alacare Hospice of Dothan.
