Well Known Franklin Undertaker Suffers Heart Attack on Tuesday Night

Gilbert N. Henderson, well known Franklin undertaker, passed away suddenly at his home at Bargersville late Tuesday night, following an attack of heart trouble.

He seemed to be in good health Tuesday and attended a men's banquet at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church in the evening. After going home, Mr. Henderson suffered an attack of acute indigestion which brought on the heart attack, causing his death about 11:30 o'clock. His son, Marshall Henderson, a teacher in the high school at Martinsville, Illinois, arrived in Franklin, Wednesday morning.

Funeral services will be held from the Hopewell Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church between the hours of 1 and 2 o'clock.

Mr. Henderson, who was 61 hears old, was born and reared in the Hopewell community and lived there all his life. For a number of years, he was associated in the undertaking business with Austin Flinn, in the firm of Flinn & Henderson. He was well known, both in Franklin and thru out Johnson County.

He was the son of James and Margaret (VanArsdale) Henderson and had been a member of the Hopewell Church for many years. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason and took an active part in both church and lodge.
