Sarah's obituary read: "Sarah Detamore was born in Augusta County, Virginia June 14, 1827. Her parents moved to Lewisburg, County, Ohio when ten years old, lived there a few years, then moved to Butler County. In that county she grew to womanhood. She was married to Simon Joh Sep. 26, 1850, emigrated to Champaign County, in 185?, where she lived until her death. Mrs. Joh had been a constant member of the M. E. church for 35 years and was loved and respected by all. After suffering for 21 mths she passed away January 6, 1885, aged 58 yrs 4 mths and 2 days. During her suffering she was never heard to murmur or complain. ...The funeral took place from Huss Chapel at 12:00 Tuesday, and was attended by a large number of friends and family. The remains were interred at the ? place..."
