YORK Allan R. Eyster, 64, of York, died Tuesday at home.

He was a retired lineman for Metropolitan Edison; a Marine veteran; and a member of American Legion Post 791, Viking AA, Michaux Forest Association and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of William Penn High School, York, attended Gettysburg College and liked hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy L. Bricker Eyster; a son, Robert A. of York; two daughters, Laura L. Nazmack of York and Karen J. Eyster of Lancaster; his mother, Ruth H. Weaver Eyster, and a sister, JoAnne Keagle, both of Carlisle; and a grandson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in his church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the church.
Keffer Funeral Home, 2114 W. Market St., is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 218 E. Market St., York 17403.

Allan R. "Al" Eyster, 64, of York, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999 at his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1934 in York, the son of Ruth H. Weaver Eyster of Carlisle and the late Philip L. Eyster.

A graduate of WIlliam Penn High School, York, who attended Gettysburg College for two years, he was a lineman for Met-Ed and retired in 1994 after 33 years of service. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of American Legion Post 791, Viking AA, Michaux Forrest Association and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, York. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
