Elizabeth Katherine “Kay” Cantrell Arnett age 95 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Salyersville Health Care Center in Salyersville, Kentucky. She was born December 31, 1919 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Willie and Julia Hale Cantrell. She was the wife of Harold Arnett, who preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Sherry (Scottie) Holbrook of Salyersville, Kentucky, two sisters, Joyce Ann Edwards of Cincinnati, Ohio and Shirley Sue Gibson of Salyersville, Kentucky, two granddaughters, Tracey Neal (Gary) Bailey and Kristy Lynn (Stephen) Horton and two great grandchildren, Hunter Douglas Holbrook Rice and Ella Grace Horton.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kay is preceded in death by eight brothers; Emmitt Cantrell, Ellis Cantrell, Hoover Cantrell, Yearns “Buddy” Cantrell, Edwin Cantrell, Billy Ray Cantrell, Arnold Cantrell and Bobby Joe Cantrell and four sisters; Beulah Cantrell, Virgie Coffey, Mayme Harmon Lyskie and Opal Cheek.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Sunday, July 26, 2015 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Hornback officiating. Burial followed in the Bluegrass Cemetery at Salyersville, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
