Funeral services for Francis E. Duhlstine, 79, Rock Island, are 10:30 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island or to Pathway Hospice. Francis died Friday, May 12, 2006 at Trinity Terrace Park, Bettendorf. He was born March 3, 1927 in Sayre, PA, the son of Tracy and Mary (Tyson) Duhlstine. Francis served in the US Army during WWII. He married Marjorie Callewyn in 1944. He married Jacquelyn Buchanan in 1967. She died in February of 1997. He married Wilma (Hetherington) Bell, December 16, 1997 in Kewanee, IL. Mr. Duhlstine retired as a Tool Designer from JI Case. He was a founding member and 1st president of the Quinsippi Sam Club. He enjoyed bowling, reading and in earlier years pitching horseshoes. He also enjoyed wintering if Florida. Survivors include his wife Wilma, daughter; Coralyn Feeney, East Moline, sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Duhlstine, Pt. Orange, FL, and Bruce Duhlstine, Milwaukee, WI, and step-son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Buchanan, Bettendorf, grandchildren, Michelle Duhlstine, Kori Morford, Stacey Buchanan, Veronica Mosely, Amanda Buchanan, Vanessa Buchanan and Brendon Buchanan, 3 great-grandchildren, and sisters: Betty Brazee, Rochelle, IL and Jane Swearingen, Flagstaff, AZ. He is preceded in death by a son Edward Francis Duhlstine in 1991.
