Earl James Ralston, 56, died of a heart attack Tuesday evening, Feb. 19 at his home east of Momence on rural route 1. He had been in failing health for several years.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Canaday-Boos funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul C. Wilson, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in the Momence cemetery under the direction of the Momence-Ganeer American Legion post. Friends may call at the Canaday-Boos funeral home until the time of the funeral.
Mr. Ralston had worked as a mechanic's helper on the C&EI railroad for many years, but had been unable to work for the past few years. He was born Dec. 22, 1895 and was married Oct. 1, 1901 in Momence. He was a veteran of World War 1.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; three sons, Donald, Edgar and Leon, all of Momence; one sister, Mrs. Caro Fank of Maywood; two brothers, Enoch of Melrose Park, and Ernest of Chicago; and one grandchild.
