Obituary / Additional Information: Marcella I. HOELSCHER, 93, of Escondido, California, and former resident of South Bend, Indiana since 1938, died Saturday, March 1, 1997. She was born March 9, 1903 in New Knoxville to Herman H. and Mary (OELRICH) HOGE. On March 28, 1929 she married Enoch J. HOELSCHER and he died June 15, 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra DABASINSKAS, Escondido, California; Marcia OBER, New Ipswich, New Hampshire; four grandchildren; a brother, Oliver HOGE, New Knoxville; three sisters, Esther DALTON, Bremerton, Washington; Olga HARTWIG, Walnut Creek, California; and Ella KUCK, Sidney. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. HOELSCHER was an elementary school teacher, beginning in a one room schoolhouse, and teaching for 22 years. She retired from John F. Nuner School in 1958. She attended Wittenberg and Bluffton Colleges in Ohio, and was a 1960 graduate of Bethel College, Mishawaka, Indiana. She was confirmed in the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in South Bend, Indiana. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville with Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville. Friends may call at the church from noon until time of services on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Historical Society in New Knoxville. Vornholt- Miller Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements
