Corrine A. Murtaugh, (nee Weber), 89 of Batavia died on September 5, 2013. She was born in Aurora, IL on Feb 15, 1924. She was preceded in death by her husband William Murtaugh, her parents Theodore and Rose (nee Michels) Weber, brothers Nick Weber and Fr. Norbert Weber MSC and a sister Kathleen Weber. She is survived by her children Diana (Roger) Dean of St. Charles, Ken (Peg) Ramsey Sr. of Batavia, and Richard P. Ramsey of Geneva, her dearly beloved grandchildren, Mary Beth Peplow of Florida, Patrick Fidler of Virgil, Jennifer Zitko of Virgil, Andrea Gentry of Aurora, Ken Ramsey Jr. of Rockford, Laura Heffley of Sycamore, Theresa McCrea of Elburn, and Brien Ramsey of Oregon, and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Elmer (Lee) Weber of Montgomery, Theodore (Shirley) Weber of Aurora and Donald (Mary Anne) Weber of Wisconsin, her sisters Alice Abens of Montgomery, and Sister Rose Marie Weber OSSF of Sugar Grove. Corrine was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia with a deep devotion to Jesus Christ. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Batavia VFW post 1197. She was very active in the Women Of The Moose 722 in Batavia for many years. Corrine volunteered her services at the Sacred Heart Monastery in Aurora and at Holy Cross parish for over 45 years. Visitation will be at Moss Family Funeral Home in Batavia on Sunday September 8, 2013 from 4PM – 8PM with a liturgical wake service and rosary at 7PM. A solemn funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia at 10:30AM on Monday September 9, 2013. Interment will be immediately following at River Hills Cemetery. A luncheon will be served in Donovan Hall at Holy Cross Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Moebius Syndrome Foundation P.O. Box 147 Pilot Grove, MO 65276, in the name of her great grandson Dylan Gentry. Information on Moebius Syndrome may be found at www.moebiussyndrome.com The family wishes to thank the amazing staff of Heritage Woods of Batavia as well as the CNS Hospice staff for the incredible care and concern shown to Corrine during her illness. They all made all the difference in the world. For all of the years Corrine lived at Heritage Woods of Batavia she was treated like a queen.
