Robert H. Adams, 83, of Columbus, passed from this life at 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Adams was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War era.
Mr. Adams was an educator for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. His positions included elementary school teacher, elementary and middle school principal and coordinator of the Federal Child-Adult Program.
Mr. Adams was a past president of Bar-Cons Federal Credit Union and the recipient of Bar-Cons Federal Credit Union "Life Time Service Award". He was the lay volunteer of the year (1990-1991) for the American Heart Association Indiana Affiliate, Bartholomew County division and was a former member of the Bartholomew County Library Board.
Mr. Adams was a member of the First Christian Church where he was a former deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, and Bible study leader.
Born in Columbus, December 13, 1931, Mr. Adams was the son of William and Freeda Wilbur Adams. Mr. Adams married Nancy Ann Fisher December 27, 1953. She preceded him in death May 12, 2010.
Mr. Adams is survived by his son, William (Pat) Adams of Columbus; sisters, Barbara (Allan) Wilson and Joyce Adams both of Columbus; and grandchildren, Amanda and Curt Lytle.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Julia Ann Adams; and a son, Eric Adams.
