Doreen Lezlie Opsahl, 52, of Caledonia, died July 19, 2015, at Mayo Health Systems in La Crosse, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 16, 1963, in Caledonia to Terry and Gloria (Eddy) Skadsem. She attended Spring Grove Public School.
She married Dale Opsahl in January of 1981 in Riceford, Minn.
She held many customer service positions, where she made many friends. She was known for her contagious laugh, unique sense of humor, politeness and her love for talking on the phone. Her many joys in life included growing houseplants, playing her guitar and listening to music. She loved cats, playing Yahtzee and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Opsahl of Caledonia; her mother, Gloria, and stepfather, Terry Sagdalen of Spring Grove; her children, Darci Baumann-Fern of St. Paul, Dariel Opsahl of Wanamingo and Dylan Opsahl of La Crosse; her grandchildren, Jacob Baumann-Fern and Carson Senn; her brothers, Derek Skadsem of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Daniel Skadsem of Spring Grove, Troy Sagdalen of Maplewood, Minn.; her sister, Darla (JC) Nerstad of Spring Grove and seven nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Terry, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leslie Eddy and Crystal Eddy, and her paternal grandparents, Melvin and Elida Skadsem,
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Blackhammer, rural Spring Grove. The Rev. Stephanie Frey will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
