Paul Melville Alpha Jr. passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the age of 76. He was born in Baytown, Texas on April 28, 1939 to Gertrude and Paul Alpha.
Paul graduated from Robert E. Lee High school in 1957, worked for Exxon for 25 years, retiring in 2001 and was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mr. Alpha enjoyed wood working, tinkering, golf, tennis and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Alpha; both parents and three sisters; Marilyn Alpha, Paula Alpha and Louise Flippo.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, MaryAnn Alpha; son, Mike Alpha; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky & Michael Sobotik, Connie and Joe Whiddon and Jana and John Carmichael; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Charles Cates and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm with Deacon John Singer officiating. A Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baytown with Father Edmund Eduarte officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
Pallbearers will be Steven Whiddon, Josh Baumbach, Cody Carmichael, Adam Alpha, John Henderson, Britt Georges and Derek Ryza.
