Frank Edman Evans was born on May 16, 1894, in Warne, North Carolina to James Polk Evans and Hannah Roxanne "Roxie" Coffey Evans. He married Lenna Janie Wortman and they had seven children together between 1915 and 1925: Winnie Mae, Opal Frankie, Paul James "Buck", Richard Louie, Alline Janie, Earl Franklin and Helen Marie. He then married Ruth Byars Weber and they had one child together in 1945, Richard David. He died on September 3, 1978, in San Diego, California, at the age of 84, and was buried there.
