Brent Burleson, 54, passed away Sunday, July 19 in his home surrounded by family and friends as he wished. Brent was born February 16, 1961 in Odessa, Texas to Suzie Burleson-Thornton and the late Winfred Hudson Burleson.

Brent graduated from Chester W. Nimitz in Houston, Texas and later graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas with a Bachelors in Business Marketing.

Brent was the Used Car Director at Hoyte Dodge in Sherman. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, mentor and the best Papa B to his grandkids. He loved his dogs and his family with his whole heart. He loved fishing, grilling, playing his guitar and being with his family any chance he could get. He touched the lives of not only his family but his friends and coworkers. He was a mentor to the many young men he worked with at the dealership both professionally and in their personal lives. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wendy Burleson, daughter Courtney Burleson-Fussell and husband Shawn, son Jason Brown and wife Martha, granddaughter Kennedy Beva Brown and grandson William Hayden Darwin, mother Suzie Burleson-Thornton and stepfather Jim Thornton, brother Terry Don Burleson and wife Terri Ann, sister-in-law Stacey McDaniel, nephews Blake Allen McDaniel, Hudson Burleson and Heath Burleson, niece Jennifer Barrett, fur babies Bender, Boulder and Sachi Burleson, unofficially adopted daughter Shea Hemperley, among other like sons and daughters. He was preceded in death by his father Winfred Hudson Burleson.

Funeral services for Brent Burleson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22 in the chapel at Victory Life Church, 4100 N. Travis in Sherman. Terry Brown of Victory Life will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.

Services under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home, Colbert, Oklahoma.
