Jean G. Sands 87, formerly of Dauphin, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Claremont Nursing Home, Carlisle.

Mrs. Sands was born in Rogersville, Pa. and was the daughter of the late Fred and Jeanette (Church) Gillogly. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 228 of Berwick. She was a member of the Hope United Presbyterian Church and it's Sunshine Senior Club.

Mrs. Sands was predeceased by her husband, Howard Harold Sands and her brother Fred Gillogly.

Mrs. Sands is survived by her sons, Carl (Pat) Sands of Gilbert, AZ and Stephen (Denise) Sands of Duncannon; her granddaughters, Carla Sands and Carrie Sands; her great-granddaughters, Sophie Lara and Brianna Decker.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11 A.M., at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. The Rev. Richard Sweeney, will be officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 to 11 A.M., at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, Pa. 17043 or to the Hope United Presbyterian Church, 931 Red Hill Road, Dauphin, Pa. 17018.

Special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Lisa Foster, for her exceptional care throughout Jean's illness. Also, a special thanks to the staff at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care given to Jean.
