Joann Caldarera, 78, of Ozark died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

Mrs. Caldarera was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph P. and Catherine Patricia (McDonnell) Caldarera.

Born at DeQueen, she was a gate attendant for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altus.

Survivors include a son, Ross Roden of Ozark; an adopted son, Robert J. Caldarera of Muskogee, OK.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Rainey of Casa and Brooke and Peyton Roden of Ozark; and a great-granddaughter.

At her request, her body was donated to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
