Ella Thelma (Storey) Hobbs went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 13, after a short illness.
She was born April 17, 1917, in a covered wagon near Artesia, N.M., to Robert Marion Storey and Laura Pearl (Magers) Storey.
On June 23, 1934, she married Raymond Olive Hobbs in Carrizozo, N.M. They lived in New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas before settling in Oklahoma in 1960. She was a member of the Wanette United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years. She has lived in Wanette since 2001.
Hobbs was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Paul and Teedle; two grandsons, Merrick and Kelly; one great-grandson, B.J.; three brothers, Cecil, Fred and Hugh; and three sisters, Blanche, Rosella and Bessie.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Vernon and Lauren Hobbs and Dwain and Linda Hobbs, all of Macomb, and Bud and Wilma Hobbs of Wanette; daughter-in-law, Alice Hobbs of San Antonio, N.M.; four daughters and their spouses, Winona and Russ Oden and Carolyn and Richard Little, all of Tahlequah, Jean and Wayne Green of Earlsboro, RoseMary and Billy Jones of Tecumseh; one brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Oneta Storey of Alamogordo, N.M.; one sister, Lavina Robinson of Odessa, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ham of Truth or Consequences, N.M., and Mary Helen Aren of Las Cruces, N.M.; 28 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 28 step-great-grandchildren; and three special friends and neighbors, Dori Bennett, Mae Bostick and Madge Malone of Wanette.
Visitation was 1 p.m. Saturday.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tribbey Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Teel and the Rev. Jimmy Adams officiating.
