Hannah married Richard Salisbury in about 1822 at the age of 27. Was baptized to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1844. Her family wanted to go to Utah but had little money. To help, Hannah made confectioneries to pay rent. And Richard was disabled, and he presented his case to the Order of Odd Fellows and they gave him his back pay, and burial expenses as requested. With that family, the family boarded on the "Commodore." On July 2 1853, the family left with 49 other wagons to cross the Missouri River and headed on to Utah. For a while they stayed in the Salt Lake Valley, before moving to a settlement named after Ezra Taft Benson (whom came to Utah a few years prior to their arrival) in Tooele County
