Funeral services for George H. Lewis, 62, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, with Dr. Edwin Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.
Lewis died Friday in a Houston hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby C. Lewis of Rosenberg; three daughters, Corky Klingle of Beasley, Mrs. Jackie Scruggs of Beasley, and Mrs. Susan Bartee of Pasadena; two sons, Carter Lewis of Pasadena and George Lewis III of Rosenberg; one sister, Mrs. L.C. Graham of Corpus Christi; three brothers, J.R. Kemp of Dallas, A.W. Lewis of Alvarado, and Roy Lewis of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lewis was born Aug. 6, 1917 in Newburg, Texas, and was a roughneck in the oil fields.
