OBITUARY:Thomas Henry Allen
Thomas Henry Allen, 87, Amarillo,Texas died Monday, 4 Feb. 1974 at South Community Hospital, in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.
Services will be at 4:00pm Thursday in Capitol Hill Funeral Home with burial in "MOORE CEMETERY" Moore, Cleveland County, Oklahoma.
Allen was a retired foreman for the Pioneer Gas Company, in Amarillo. He was a longtime Amarillo resident.
He was a Mason and a member of the Christian Church.
Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always maintained a garden with OKRA and those little HOT peppers. They kept a few chickens, for eggs and Sunday Dinner. And always let me bring home a stray kitten from the park that was across the street from their house in Amarillo; when I came to visit for the summer. He truly was a respectful, kind, and gentle soul. He was the Best Grandpa ever.Forever known to all his step- grandkids as "PALLY".
He was preceded by his parents,"Andy"and Tabitha DeLONG Allen. Two sisters, Carrie ALLEN Power/Rubenkoenig, and Nancy ALLEN Fletcher/Patton.
Four ALLEN brothers, Grover, Willie, Fred, and Oscar.
Survivors include, his wife, Lily, of the home, one brother, "JIM", living in California. A sister, Hattie Milam, Breckinridge, Texas, A step-son, Jesse M. Prosser, Tulelake, California, Two step-daughters, Mrs. V. Davis and Mrs N. Sullivent, both of Oklahoma City. Nine step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
