He was retired after 32 years at The Kroot Corporation in Columbus. He loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at Easyville. Garry also enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, working puzzles, technology and electronics and spending time with his family.
Garry is survived by his wife of almost 46 years and the love of his life, Nan; children, Garry Barrett of Ogden, UT, Steve Barrett of Vernon, and Julie (William Allman) Barrett-Kelly of North Vernon; Grandchildren, Heather Nicole Schmidlap, Sophie Barrett, Sam Barrett, Dillon, Blake Mills and an unborn granddaughter Juliana. Garry is also survived by 10 siblings, Larry (Verda) Barrett, Linda (Benny) Barger, Brenda (Gary) Campbell, Darlene Barrett, Teresa (Jerry) Cole, Kenneth (Judy) Barrett, Lynette Wolfe, Jeff (Paige) Barrett, Jerry Barrett and Greg (Jane) Barrett. Garry also had several nieces and nephews who survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Phillip Wolfe; niece, Kelly Wolfe; nephews, Phillip Edward Wolfe and Danny Hines.
Pastor Jean Pogue will conduct funeral services at 11:00am on Monday, July 20th at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Sq. Rd in Seymour. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00pm until 6:00pm and from 10:00am until service time on Monday at the funeral. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery.
