MUSCATINE, Iowa - Bette I. Pelton, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Premiere Estates.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at a later date.
Casket bearers will be Chris Pelton, Robert Schaapveld, Jake Evans, Joe Reusswig, Jeremy Flores, and Duane Salyars. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Bette was born on December 21, 1928, in Muscatine, the daughter of Leo E. and Marie Connell O'Leary. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Pelton on August 1, 1946, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1989.
She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1946. She was a member of the Women of the Moose,
Those left to honor her memory include one son, Douglas J. Pelton and wife Dianna of Muscatine; two daughters, Cynthia K. Reusswig and husband Michael of The Villages, Florida, and Jane M. Schaapveld and husband David of Muscatine; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one half brother, Victor Slovack of Letts.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two brothers, Michael John O'Leary and Dennis O'Leary, and two sisters, Nancy Moody and Sally Miller.
