Place of birth in her obituary is listed as Hamilton, Madison Co. NY. She was the daughter of Olive Hayes (fathers name unknown) and had a brother Henry. She married Gardiner Austin on July 4, 1845 and they were the parents of Harriet, John, Wellington and Charles. In 1894 she was living in Holyoke, Mass and is listed in the city directory there as the widow of Gardiner, also at the same address was her son Wellington. Her obituary does not state her place of burial but since she died at the home of her son Charles in Oneida Co. I would imagine she was buried next to her husband. Her granddaughter said that many graves in the "Old Grilley" had no stones.
