Lundie's mother, Elizabeth, remarried and Lundie grew up with her mother and step father, John Lares. Lundie married William Leonard Clybern on September 26, 1921 in Avondale, McDowell, West Virginia. They had two children:
1) Aleene Elizabeth Clybern, married Richard Columbus Barber, Jr, and had three children: Richard C, Jr, William C, and Patrick Sanford. The family lived in Culpeper, Virginia, where her father moved after a short stay in Radford, VA.
2) Carlton Burman "Carroll Clybern, married Virginia Weakley and had two children: Janice and Karen. They also lived in Culpeper, VA.
Lundie died early in life from complications as a result of Tuberculosis. She died when her daughter, Aleene, was 12 years old, between September 1934 and 1935.
Lundie spent some time in a sanatorium in West Virginia, while her husband worked the mines and took care of the children. Then, at Lundie's request, her husband moved her home. The children were not allowed to go into her room, and all of her clothing was destroyed.
It is thought she died at home, but this is unconfirmed. She was buried in the mountains of West Virginia, where her daughter once located her grave, ground up in brush. It is no longer known where she was buried.
