Fredericksburg--Mrs. Ewald (Esther) Schaefer, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1993, in a local nursing home.
Vigil and rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Mary's Catholic Church with entombment in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum.
She was born May 2, 1917 in Fredericksburg. She was secretary of insurance for Central Texas Electric Co-op.
Survivors include her husband, Ewald Schaefer of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Sandra Tolbert of San Antonio; a son, Stephen Schaefer of Georgetown; four sisters, Helen Pape and Elenora Parker, both of Fredericksburg, Ann Neumann of San Antonio and Julie Smalley of Bryan; a brother, Robert Pape of Fredericksburg; and four grandchildren.
