Pat Perry Duncan was 18 years old as he prepared to sound the bugle aboard the USS Raleigh on the morning of December 7, 1941. Moments later he found himself responding to the attack on Pearl Harbor. He survived that attack and went on to serve his country in WWII.

The Lord called Pat, at the age of 92, to his higher service the evening of July 13, 2015. He was born February 22, 1923, in Meridian, Texas to Spurgeon and Mary Emma Perry Duncan. He married Carol Matson, of Norse, Texas, on November 30, 1941. After her passing, he married Penny Terry on December 2, 2007, and moved to Beeville, Texas. Pat and Penny met after both of their spouses of over 60 years had passed away. Both of them knew that they were fortunate to have a second opportunity at love and enjoy each other’s company, as they traveled and shared life together.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernice Cosper; and Carol, his first wife.

Pat is survived his wife, Penny; his daughter, Jan Duncan; his son, Bill (Paula) Duncan; his step-daughter, Theresa (Jack) Allen; his grandchildren, Chris (Raleigh) Phonpituck, Tony Phonpituck, Heather (Luis) Valdez, Lindsey (Kurtiss) Gustafson, Lauren (Anthony) Rangel; step-grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Perkinson; Penny (Jessie) Vital; Hayden Valdez; great-grandchildren, David Faechner, Emily Faechner, and Hayden Valdez; step-great-grandchildren, Kenedy Harris, Karson Harris, Kooper Harris and Kael Harris; and sister-in-law, Nadine Heid; as well as a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

Those serving as pallbeaerers will be Chris Phonpituck, Tony Phonpituck, Ed McKay, Mickey Lofton, Bill Kingston and Bob Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Culli, Vic Barris, Homer Hanna, Dudly Thoms, Dennis DeWitt, Max Luna, Mark Parsons and Arnold Reynolds.
