Albert A Augustine, 70, of Des Moines, IA died Wednesday, Aprtil 30, 1986 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. He was born July 23, 1915 at Rose Hill, IA, the son of Albert E Augustine and Ruth Hull Augustine.
He was the founder, in 1950, and president of Augustine and Co, in Des Moines, IA. Prior to that he was a special agent for the F.B.I. and professor of taxation at Drake University. He was chairman of the Federal Taxation Committee of the American Institute of CPAs.
He was past president of the Iowa Socieity of Certified Public Accountants, and past president and secretary of the iowa Board of Accountancy. He received his Master's degree in economics and accounting from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Des Moines Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs Connie Jacobs of Chicago, IL and Mrs Kathy Oplt of Des Moines, IA; one son, Ed of Des Moines, IA; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs Ruth Sherman of LaCrosse, WI.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 2, 1986 at Grace United Methodist Church with Dr C Dendy Garrett officiating. burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in West Des Moines, IA. Visitation is from 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday May 1, 1986, at the Dunn's Funeral Home.
