Nelda Mae Hazen went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2006, at the age of 92. She was cremated. Ashes will laid to rest at the Clayton Cemetery, Van Meter, IA at a later date.

Ms. Hazen was born in Van Meter, IA on June 15, 1914, and has lived in Des Moines all her life except for short periods in Missouri Valley, IA and Knoxville, IA. She retired from Dahl's on Hubbell and has also worked for Continental Western Insurance Company and Younkers.

She is survived by four daughters, Donna Clemenson, Norma (Harold) Stewart of Mesa, AZ, Janice (Ardean) Williams of Michellville and Susan Steinbach of Altoona, eleven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildrn. One son, Jack Hazen who preceded her in death in 1995,

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. She enjoyed her family, flower gardens, church work, cooking, sewing and playing cards. Nelda lived a full life and was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
