SGM Aaron P. Hendricks (Georgia National Guard, retired), 87, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his Hinesville residence under the care of Heartland Hospice.
A native of Emanuel County, Georgia, he was a resident of Hinesville for 57 years. He was retired from MATES on Fort Stewart after 33 years of service and was a retired sergeant major, having served in the Georgia National Guard for 38 years.

SGM Hendricks was a member of Williams Chapel Church in Kite and attended Midway First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris W. Hendricks of Hinesville; two daughters, Mary Prince of Hinesville and Joann Downs (Rick) of Jesup; two sons, Dean Hendricks (Jane) of Marietta and Dwane P. Hendricks (Shari) of Savannah; three sisters, Lera Holder of Kite, Avis Olliff of Valdosta and Diane Flanders of Kite; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Nathan Hendricks.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at Midway First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Wright and the Rev Lamar Kersey officiating.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Williams Chapel Church Cemetery in Kite with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be Randy Mobley, Michael Freeman, Greg Herbert, Anthony Gerace, Barry Tice and Tim Stone.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.StJude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
