Mrs. Elder Died Here Today After a Brief Illness
Widow of W. W. Elder Dies After Ten Day Illness
Mrs. Beanie S. Elder, age 75 years, widow of W. W. Elder, well-known citizen of this county for many years, who preceded his wife in death about 26 years, died at her home in this city this morning, Wednesday, about 3:00 o'clock, following an illness of about ten days.
Mrs. Elder was a member of one of Chambers County's most respected families, living near Milltown for many years, where she and her family were active in the affairs of the community. For many years she made her home in that section of the county, later moving near Buttston, and later to LaFayette, where she had made her home for the past seven years. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Beat Two.
Funeral service will be held from the New Hope Church Thursday morning at ten o'clock, with Rev. G. D. Hunt, friend and pastor of the family, being the officiating minister. Interment will be in the cemetery nearby, with Robinson & Cutler, LaFayette undertakers, in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. W. A. Threadwell, of Shreveport, La.; Mrs. L. L. Clanton, Buttston; Miss Mattie Elder, LaFayette; Mrs. J. M. Adamson, Milltown; Mrs. T. W. Green, Fairfax; and Mrs. R. P. Green, LaGrange; two brothers, Felix Woodlard (sic), Clanton, and John Taylor, Bessemer; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
