Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert Anderson were held Saturday, at United Church of Christ, Granite Falls, the Rev. Norman Pavey officiating. The soloist was Mrs. Susan Rollins, the organist was Mrs. Lynn Ness.
Casket bearers were Mike Anderson, Mark Pearson, Les Smith, Duane Fruin, Tim Fruin, Billy McFarlane. Interment was in Doncaster cemetery.
Oscar Gilbert Anderson was born in Sweden on Dec. 13, 1892. He came to the United States in 1911. He married Garnette Fruin on August 21, 1933 in Watertown, SD.
Gilbert worked at the Green Company as a dynamite blaster and has lived in the Granite Falls area all his life.
He died Thursday morning, Feb. 8, at the Granite Falls hospital at the age of 86 years.
He is survived by his wife, Garnette; four children, Harold W. Anderson of Dawson, James R. Anderson of Montevideo, Beatrice Read of Granite Falls and Judith Smith of Willmar; one brother, Harold of Norway and one sister, Clara of Norway.
Arrangements were by Hamre Funeral Home.
