Funeral service for Jaime Cathleen Orban will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m.-11 a.m.

Jaime died Fri., Oct. 3, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 17 years old.

The daughter of Steve Joseph and Catherine Jane (Ray) Orban was born May 23, 1986, in Tulsa. Jaime had been involved in 4-H since she was nine years old. Jaime loved riding horses. She used her experiences to break and train her own horse, Sunny. She showed him in the 2003 State Horse Show placing 9th in the State in the two-year old horse project. She held many offices within this organization including: president of her horse club, serving on Rogers County's 4-H Youth Council, and captain of Rogers County's 4-H Quiz Bowl Team for the past two years. She attended several State 4-H Round-ups, and recently represented Rogers County at the 2003 Oklahoma State 4-H Congress. Jaime had also been named to the Rogers County 4-H 2002-03 Hall of Fame. Jaime was a senior at Claremore High School. She had been a member of the high school choir since her freshman year, where she has received numerous awards at district and state solo/ensemble contests. Jaime was also an officer of National Honor Society, and has participated on Claremore's Academic Bowl Team for the past four years. Jaime was honored recently by being named as a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist.

Survivors include her parents, Steve and Cathy Orban, brother, Kale Orban, and sisters, Ivy and Alaina Orban all of the home; maternal grandparents: Mrs. Vera Gunter of Catoosa, and Captain Thomas J. Ray and wife, Gisela of Kona, HI; paternal grandfather, James Orban of Nowata; aunts and uncles: Patricia Johnson and husband, James of Melbourne, FL, Lillian Martin and husband, Paul of Austin, TX, Jason Ray of Tulsa, Jetta Samulski and husband, David of Marietta, OH, Jan Gramblin of Nowata, Jimbo Orban of Nowata, Pete Orban and wife, Brenda of Claremore, Jack Orban and wife, Stephanie of Broken Arrow, Seth Orban of Tulsa, Melinda Covey and husband, Dean of Broken Arrow, Margret Rylko and husband, John of Owasso, Billy Orban and wife, Donna of Bristow, and Sam Orban of Nowata; many cousins and friends.
