Elizabeth was the oldest of six born to farmer John Jarrell and his wife Catherine McKay.
In 1904 she married Benjamin Oswald Allen, also from Kincardine Township. The young couple soon located to Fort William in Rainy River, Ontario, where Benjamin was a dealer in farm implements.
Their son, James, was born in 1907.
Sadly, Elizabeth became ill in 1926 with a bacterial infection and died within a few months. She was buried with her parents.
