Mary Ann Tater, 64, of Alvin, passed away at her residence Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. Mary Ann was born Jan. 5, 1944 in East Bernard. She had been an Alvin resident for 35 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Tater, who passed away in February 2007. She was also preceded in death by her father, George Fojtik, Sr. in 1971.
Mary Ann is survived by her mother, Beatrice Fojtik of East Bernard; sisters, Jeannette Michalcik and husband, Ervin, of East Bernard, and Cindy Meitzen and husband, Bill, of The Woodlands; brothers, James Fojtik and wife, Evelyn, of Wallis, and George Fojtik, Jr. and wife, Margaret, of Wharton; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Sept. 10, 2008, at Scott Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 1030 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Borski, O.M.I. officiating.
