Jesse Aman enlisted as a Private on 14 July 1862 Co. H. 3rd Cavalry Regiment North Carolina and died 4 Mar 1865 at Point Lookout MD.

Jesse was the son of William Aman and Elizabeth Garrot Aman of Onslow Co. North Carolina and his wife's name was Mary. He died at Point Lookout of chronic diarrhea and rheumatism.

His brothers, Jeremiah N. Aman and David Franklin Aman were also imprisoned at Point Lookout but survived. Another brother William Henry Aman died after the battle of Goldsboro NC from an illness.
