Orion, April 27, 1931 - Mrs. Charles G. Peterson, aged 86 years died in her home at 8:30 Saturday evening following a general decline in health. She had been bedfast five weeks. She and her husband would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this fall. Mrs. Peterson was born in Vestergotland, Sweden on December 21, 1844 and came to America with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olaus Bengston in 1852. They settled near Andover. She was married to C.G. Peterson in Geneseo on September 13, 1862. They lived in Geneseo three years and then moved to a farm west of Lynn Center, where they lived forty-two years. They retired and moved to Orion, where they had lived since. She was a member of the Orion Lutheran church.Surviving are the widower; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Anderson of Windom Kansas, Mrs. Emily Anderson of Galesburg, and Mrs. Ada Magnuson of Orion, four sons, William A. Peterson of Orion, Theodore G. Peterson of St. Paul Minnesota, Henry Peterson of Boulder, Colorado and Martin Peterson of Lynn Center, all of whom were present when she died.There also are twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Services will be held in the home tomorrow at 1:00 in the afternoon and in St. Paul's Lutheran church and at 1:30 with the Reverand M.A. Odell officiating.
