Amanda F. Dixon-Marchant was the daughter of John B. "Brushy" Dixon and Miranda Flemming-Dixon. She married "Shan" Anderson A. Marchant on July 16, 1865. Born to them Wells, Wiley, Rufe, Minnie, & Thomas., By 1940 they had 13 grandchildren. It is believed they moved to Dodd City, Texas, at some time. Wells married Laura Tucker, Wiley married Lena Fowler,Rufie married Louise Elkenhorst and moved to Texas, Minnie married W. M. Ford. Minnie's daughter Essie Ford married Forrest Armstrong and moved to Tishomingo, OK.
Amanda Marchant's siblings were; Grandison F., James Madison, Thomas, Mary C., Famie, Minerva, Martha Ann, William T., John F. (Tonkey) and Sarah Georgana (Georgie) Climer. All but Tonkey, and Georgie were born in Bedford Co., TN. Tonkey may have born in Melbourne, AR. May Amanda rest in peace near Shan.
