He enlisted in Co. I, 5th Infantry, in April of 1898 and served during the Spanish War. When the Philippine War broke out, he re-enlisted in Co. K, 45th, U.S.V. and went to Manila. He became sick and died on October 27, 1900 at San Jose de Lagonoy.
