Andy was born October 12, 1951, in Borger, Texas. He was active in Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. He attended school in Borger and graduated from West Texas State University in 1974. He soon began a distinguished 38-year career with Acme Brick Company, retiring as Lubbock area manager in 2014. Andy then launched Andy Anderson Homes, building high quality residences—including a showstopper at the 2015 Parade of Homes—until his death.
Andy married the love of his life, Tricia, on July 5, 1985. They shared a multitude of activities, including dancing, golf, travel, Texas Tech football and basketball, and the family business. They especially enjoyed attending their children’s and grandchildren’s many activities and sporting events.
Andy was very active in the Lubbock Community. He was a long-time member of the West Texas Home Builders Association, past-president of the Lubbock Business Association, and past-president of the board of LakeRidge Country Club. He was a leader of Cub Scout Pack 525. He and Tricia were members of Southcrest Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Anderson Binkley, stepfather Donald Binkley, and sister Sherry Newberry. He is survived by Tricia, daughter Julie Ray, her husband Shane, and grandchildren Lillie and Lane of Lubbock; son Jay Anderson, his wife Ashley, and grandchildren Ava and Brandt of Kyle, Texas; son Trey Stoffregen, his spouse Michelle Ensminger, and grandson Britton of Lubbock; and his sisters, Francis Elms and Kathy Taylor; and a huge family of close friends.
Donations to honor Andy’s memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, the Southcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, or the South Plains Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
