Graveside services for Mrs. Gervis Hager age 95, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Restlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her Great Grandsons: Justin Hager, Cory Taylor, Layne Ashmore, Calan Ashmore, Ty Redding, Chase Redding, and Cole Hager.
Mrs. Hager died at 6:35 A.M. on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Carriage House Manor.
She was born January 30, 1911 in Brashear to the late John and Carrie Johnson Easley. She later married S.S. "Slim" Hager in Hopkins County on December 30, 1928, he precedes her in death.
She was a homemaker and also a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
Mrs. Hager is survived by her son, Bill Hager and wife Lynda of Sulphur Springs, sisters, Monteen Stephens and husband Steve of Happy, TX, and Elwanda Jo Whisenant and husband Bill of Fallon, NV, Grandchildren, Melissa Simons Daniels and husband Jack, Cindy Simons Wilkerson, Julie Hager Ashmore, Tony Hager and wife Angela, Great Grandchildren, Stephanie and Cory Taylor, Chase, Ty, and Mollyanna Redding, Layne and Calan Ashmore, Cole Hager, Justin Hager, and Jennifer Hager Betts, and four step great grandchildren, Michael and Jeff Hernandez and Jack Daniels II, and Robin Hunicutt. She is also survived by her great great grandchildren, Joely Taylor, Jasmine Alexis Hager and Charlie Elizabeth Betts.
She is preceded in death by one daughter Anna Margaret Simons; one grandson David Lee Simons, brothers Valcar and Kyle Easley, and sisters, Daphene Thomas and Novis Thomas.
