His best season was in 1936 when he matched his season high in wins with 18 and lead the league in strikeouts with 238. He was named to the National League All Star Team in 1934, 1936, 1937 and 1945. His career record is 120 wins and 115 losses, with a 3.47 lifetime ERA.
