William L. Ball, 68, of Davisville, passed away Sept. 11, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in Marion County, W.Va., on June 17, 1942, a son of the late Raymond C. and Beulah Davis Ball.

William was retired after 35 years of service as a warehouse manager for Sears. He was a member of Spreading Truth Ministries Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Parkersburg.

Surviving are his four children, Angela (Kevin) Damewood of Reedsville, Ohio, and Timothy (Joyce) Ball, Gina (Blaine) Ritchie and Stephen (Melissa) Ball, all of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Matthew Ball, Michael Ritchie, Kaitlin Ritchie, Hannah Damewood and Tyler Ball; his loving friend and caregiver, Vickie Ball (Roger Lyons); two stepchildren, Cathy (Stacy) Smith and Becky (Ryan) Shaver, all of Mineral Wells; four step-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kylie, BreeAnna and Brittany; his former mother-in-law and dear friend, Betty Cook of Parkersburg; his stepmother, Mary Ball of Belleville; a former daughter-in-law, Tamara Ball of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emezetta Bowyer Ball; and one brother, Walter Ball.

Services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Bishop Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Rockland Cemetery, Belpre. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
